Just a quick little update to let you all know where we are in the process and some updates...
*Tonight we were suppose to have our last home study visit with our individual interviews BUT our social worker who is expecting just got back from the labor and delivery with contractions and problems and she needs her rest so we rescheduled for this coming week!
*Jim and I each went and got our medical forms signed by our doctors! My doctor was really excited and had just recently been to Africa in 2006 so she knows all the immunizations we need and said she will gladly give us our malaria meds and anti-biotics to take over with us!
*With Jim and I's tax refund we are able to send in a VERY important form which is the i-600a form letting the united states government know we will be bringing an orphan into the country. The form and the second set of FBI fingerprints that will be needed for USCIS is a total of $870...crazy amount but needed! Thankful we have our tax refund! We are waiting to see how the situation in Uganda concerning adoptions turn out before we turn in this form.
*We are almost to the point where we REALLY will be in the waiting period you could call it! Within the next 2-3 weeks, our social worker will have our home study all done and written up for us. When that is done then we move onto the next and beautiful part which is...OUR REFERRAL!!! This is the time where we will start working more one on one with our lawyer as she works with babies homes in Africa to find our baby girl! We believe we might have found the babies home we will be working with! I will let you know more details once we know for sure but this babies home does have baby girls so Isabella could be there right now even! During this time after we get everything we needed sent over to our lawyer, we will have a bit of time where we necessarily will not be doing anything and so that is the time we read, pray, and keep trying to raise the funds to bring her home!
*We really would appreciate prayers regarding ugandan adoptions...we are praying they will resolve soon! The lawyers over there are hopeful it will and they are working hard! I have to remember it's all in God's hands and under His authority and control and He already knows everything that will happen and His plans for each of us! He loves those orphans more than we'll ever love them so we are praying and trusting along with all the other adoptive families that hopefully this issue will resolve soon! Its simply an issue of wording of the rulings that us embassy would like changed before the us embassy starts issuing visas again! Please pray God will crush these mountains, soften the hearts that need softened and work in this in a mighty way where hopefully the families there can bring home their children and those of us waiting to go over can continue our adoptions with Uganda and most of all for God to get all the glory in this! This BIG problem to us is small to Him in comparison to the BIG picture/plan/story He has for all of us and for His glory...this is just a speck! Please pray!

Mom talked to a doctor yesterday who just adopted from Africa. She said she wanted to adopt from uganda but the doors were "closed" and she was not allowed and she also told mom that uganda is the most expensive place to adopt in africa and its normally around $60,000. Mom was worried and I told her you have done your research :) Praying God's will is done.

Just recently (within the past 1-2 years) laura, adoptions changed and they allowed legal guardianships to happen in Uganda and then final adoptions to take place once you bring your child back to the states and its one the cheapest countries to adopt from ($15-$25 k).
