healing lyrics...

When we first lost Annabelle, I wondered how it would effect my singing. In the beginning I thought it would be months before I could get back to the worship team and singing in church. Through the past weeks, God again has used so many things including music to reach me, to heal me, to help me through this grief. I realized last week that singing and worshiping Him is actually helping me because no matter the circumstance, when He gives and when He takes away...He ALWAYS deserves to be praised and whether I'm singing a song to Him, about Him or just even a song about the way He loves me or helps me, it's a comfort to my soul in a way I cannot describe. Music does something to me that I will not ever begin to try and describe but it does, and I am so thankful for it. I decided to start back singing this week and went to my first practice tonight, since losing Annabelle. As I sat there singing the lyrics, I imagined Annabelle and sometimes I imagined our other children too, dancing around Jesus singing the same worship song to Him, but in heaven. It brought a smile to my face as I sang but also to my heart. I grieve deeply for her, but I have joy and hope knowing that she is where and she is doing what she was created to do, which is worshiping her Savior. That blesses me so much. I just look forward to the day when we all will be there together worshiping Him for eternity.

Here are some lyrics of several different songs that have really touched me in some way the past few days...

"When it gets hard You go before me as a shield
When its too late, You come behind me and You heal
Should my heart break when loves the only way
So be it Lord, may I be broken for love's sake"
~ Broken for love's sake by Tricia Brock

"This world wants to steal Your hope from my heart but mercy's stronger still than my struggles are. Your love is nothing less than a life laid down for me and a place where I can lean..." ~ Lean by Tricia Brock
"One thing I know that I have found, through all the troubles that surround. You are the Rock that never fails, You never fail." ~ Everlasting God by Newlife worship
"Though I walk through the valley of death, I will magnify and glorify You with every breath...You are my shepherd in the wilderness. Who shall I fear? You are the God who goes before me, my Rock and my Shield. In troubled times You will provide, and I shall not want. You are, You are my God." ~ You are my Shepherd by Tricia Brock
"If You’re all You claim to be. Then I’m not losing anything. So I will crawl upon my kneesjust to know the joy of suffering. I will love You enough to let go. Lord, I give you my life..." ~ You can have me by Sidewalk Prophets
"Sing your song to me Oh, there's no greater thing, than to listen to the sound of Your voice. When I hear Your song I want to sing along and listen to the sound of Your voice." ~Sound of Your voice by Third Day
"Then love comes down when your heart is lost. When you've seen your whole world shattered and your dreams just fall apart. So lift up your voice, let Him hear your cry. When you've got nothing left to hold onto that's when love comes down." ~ Kerrie Roberts

  1. still praying for you... I've not forgotten. Those words are beautiful. When we lost our first I was playing on our church worship team (violin) and I felt the same... that it would be months before I could walk to the front and play... it was just two weeks before I realized that playing in worship was actually going to help me heal... the first week was hard. I felt like everyone was staring at me... but then it did wonders for my heart! So glad you are singing again - God is putting a new song in your heart and it will be more beautiful than before!
